MEN’S GOLF: Dawgs 2nd in The Carmel Cup

[su_spacer size=”20″] The 12th-ranked Georgia men’s golf team improved a spot to second place on Saturday in The Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Bulldogs fired a an even-par 360 in the second round to move to 1-over 721. Oklahoma State holds the team lead at 8-under 712 following a second-round 9-under 351.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Junior Greyson Sigg paced the Bulldogs on Saturday as he fired a 3-under 69. Sophomore Zach Healy added a 1-under 71, followed by redshirt freshman Jack Larkin Jr. at even-par 72, senior Sepp Straka at 1-over 73 and freshman David Mackey at 3-over 75. Junior Jaime Lopez Rivarola had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 7-over 79.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Straka is the top Bulldog at 1-under 143, standing eighth and trailing Arkansas’ Alvaro Ortiz by four shots. Sigg and Healy are 14th at even-par 144, followed by Larkin in 20th at 1-over 145, Lopez Rivarola at 5-over 149 and Mackey at 9-over 153.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The final round of The Carmel Cup will be held on Sunday. Live scoring and tee times can be found at GolfStat.com. The Bulldogs will begin at 11:10 a.m. and will be paired with Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Vanderbilt.
