MEN’S GOLF: After Round 1, Georgia in 15th at Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational

The Georgia men’s golf team stands 15th after one round of the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational.

 
On Sunday at the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club’s par-71, 7,017-yard layout on the Witch Hollow course, the Bulldogs fired a 16-over 300. Oklahoma has the team lead at 12-under 272, followed by Stanford at 10-under 274.
 
 
Freshman Davis Thompson paced the Bulldogs on Sunday as he shot a 2-over 73. Oklahoma’s Blaine Hale holds the individual lead at 7-under 64.
 
 
Sophomore Trevor Phillips signed for a 3-over 74, sophomore Spencer Ralston posted a 5-over 76 and sophomore Will Chandler had a 6-over 77. Freshman John Hilliard Catanzaro recorded the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 8-over 79.
