MEN’S GOLF: UGA 3rd After Opening Round of The Carmel Cup


[su_spacer size=”20″] The 12th-ranked Georgia men’s golf team stands third after one round of The Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
[su_spacer size=”40″] On Friday, the Bulldogs opened the fall portion of their schedule at 1-over-par 361 — including 2-under-par 70s from senior Sepp Straka and junior Jaime Lopez Rivarola. Georgia trails Arkansas and Vanderbilt (3-under 357) by four shots with two rounds remaining.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Sophomore Zach Healy and redshirt freshman Jack Larkin Jr. each signed for a 1-over 73 and junior Greyson Sigg carded a 3-over 75. Freshman David Mackey had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 6-over 78.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Straka and Lopez Rivarola are tied for second, one shot in back of Arkansas’ Alvaro Ortiz (3-under 69).
