MGOLF: Georgia Falls to 13th In NCAA Bryan Regional

BRYAN, Texas — The Georgia men’s golf team slipped to 13th place in the NCAA Bryan Regional at Traditions Golf Club on Tuesday.

On the par-72, 7,121-yard layout, the Bulldogs fired a 14-over 302 to move to 29-over 605. The top five teams after Wednesday’s final round will advance to NCAA Championships May 25-30 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla. The top five after Tuesday were Texas A&M (558), Clemson (559), Baylor (570), UCLA (576) and Ole Miss (579).

 

Sophomore Spencer Ralston led the Bulldogs in the second round as he signed for an even-par 72. Junior Jack Larkin Jr. and freshman Davis Thompson each added a 4-over 76, while sophomore Trevor Phillips posted a 6-over 78. Senior Zach Healy had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 9-over 81.

 

Ralston moved to 1-over 145 and into 20th place. Texas A&M teammates Chandler Phillips and Brandon Smith share the individual lead at 8-under 136. Thompson is at 7-over 151, followed by Phillips at 9-over 153, Larkin at 13-over 157 and Healy at 17-over 161.

 

The NCAA Bryan Regional will conclude on Wednesday. Georgia will tee off in 11-minute increments between 10:20 and 11:04 a.m.
