Behind first-time collegiate medalist Spencer Ralston, the 12th-ranked Georgia men’s golf team won the Linger Longer Invitational by six shots on Sunday.

Playing The Landing Golf Course’s par-72, 6,991-yard layout, the Bulldogs fired a final-round 11-under 277 to wind up at 19-under 845 for the tournament. Georgia finished six clear of Liberty’s 851 and nine better than Louisville’s 854.

“I could not be prouder of this group of guys,” said Georgia head coach Chris Haack, who piloted his team to its second win this spring and to the program’s 62nd during his tenure. “We were focused throughout and we cleaned some things up along the way to give ourselves a chance. I am so happy for Spencer as well. He has been a tremendous ambassador for Georgia golf during his career, so it’s great that he can add this to his resume. This team has really come together and found great chemistry, and I’m looking forward to seeing how we fare coming down the stretch.”

On Sunday, Ralston registered eight birdies, including six over his final 10 holes. Phillips signed for a 6-under 66 as well, picking up an eagle and six birdies. The Bulldogs also counted a 1-under 71 from freshman Trent Phillips and a 2-over 74 by sophomore Davis Thompson. Freshman WillKahlstorf had Georgia’s non-counting loop of 6-over 78.

After Ralston and Trevor Phillips, Trent Phillips was 15th at 1-under 215, followed by Kahlstorf at 5-over 221 and Thompson at 6-over 222.
