On Wednesday, the Georgia men’s golf team will begin its quest for the program’s 30th Southeastern Conference Championship at the Sea Island Golf Club.

The Bulldogs hold the No. 16 ranking in the country according to Golfstat with freshman Trent Phillips leading the team with a scoring average of 69.52.

Georgia brings a lineup of juniors Trevor Phillips and Spencer Ralston, sophomore Davis Thompson, and freshmen Will Kahlstorf and Trent Phillips. In addition to these five players, junior Will Chandler will be available as a substitute.

The format of the event consists of 54 holes of stroke play qualifying. Teams will play 18 holes each day Wednesday through Friday. The top eight teams will advance to match play, with the quarterfinals and semifinals being contested on Saturday. Then, the championship match will take place on Sunday.

Georgia kicks off play on Wednesday morning at 8:20 a.m. ET. The Bulldogs are paired with South Carolina and Alabama in the first round.
