The second annual Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA) will be held next week. Three members of the Georgia women’s golf team – Caterina Don, Isabella Holpfer and Candice Mahé – are among the 85 golfers who have accepted invitations to the tournament. I wanted to give you a heads up that we will conduct a Zoom with Caterina, Isabella and Candice and head coach Josh Brewer either tomorrow or Friday to discuss the ANWA. The timing and links for that Zoom will be forwarded as soon as possible.

Don participated in the inaugural ANWA in 2019, the spring before she arrived at UGA, and finished 12th overall. Holpfer, a freshman, and Mahé, a sophomore, will be competing in Augusta for the first time.

The tournament format includes two rounds contested at Champions Retreat Golf Club on Wednesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 1. After the entire field plays a Friday practice round at Augusta National on Friday, April 2, the top 30 golfers after the rounds rounds at Champions Retreat will compete in the ANWA’s final round at Augusta National on Saturday, April 3.
