Lee carded a final round 4-under 66 at Hossegor Golf Club to finish tied atop the leaderboard and then won a playoff with Alexandra Moisand of France.[su_spacer size=”40″] Lee, a native of Castro Uridales, Spain, entered the final round two shots off the pace of Elena Hualde Zuniga. She and Moisand, who shot 67 on Sunday, both ended up at 2-under 278, five shots ahead of the rest of the field.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Lee opened the 72-hole event with a 2-under 68 to grab a share of the first-round lead with Hualde Zuniga. She posted successive 72s in the second and third rounds, slipping to third and then fourth in the process before rallying on Sunday.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Lee’s title is the third victory in a significant major event by Georgia women’s golfers this summer. Incoming freshman Rinko Mitsunaga won the inaugural U.S. Women’s Amatuer 4-ball Championship in May and incoming freshman Bailey Tardy captured the 113th Annual North & South Amateur earlier this month.
