The UGA women’s golf team carded a 307 in Tuesday’s second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate at the Poppy Hills Golf Club, leaving the Bulldogs in a tie for 14th place.

 
“You learn from days like today,” head coach Josh Brewer said. “We’re not in the position we want to be in after two rounds, but college golf is three rounds. We’ll try to win the final day and move up the leaderboard. Unless you’re leading the tournament, your goal the last day is always to move up. That’s what we’ll try to do tomorrow. I think this is a good challenge for us. It’s a great opportunity to gain some momentum going into our final tournament of 2017, and that’s how we’ll approach it.”
 
 
Sophomore Gabriela Coello led Georgia with a 3-over 74 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs also counted a 76 from Isabella Skinner, a 77 from Paula Neira Garcia and a 79, the score posted by both Stephanie Carras and Bailey Tardy.
 
 
Overall, Coello enters the final round tied for 23rd at 147, Neira Garcia is tied for 29th at 148, Skinner is tied for 57th at 153 and Tardy is tied for 69th at 157.
 
 
No. 5 Stanford and Northwestern’s Hannah Kim continue to lead the team and individual fields, respectively. The Cardinal own a seven-shot lead over No. 4 UCLA. Kim’s 6-under effort over 36 holes is four shots ahead of six golfers, including three members of the Stanford roster.
 
 
The Bulldogs will tee off in waves from 11:55-12:39 from No. 10 on Wednesday. Live scoring will be updated on a three-hole basis at golfstat.com.
