Friday’s Georgia gymnastics meet featuring the Gymdogs vs. Missouri at 7 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum will be the team’s annual Pink and Green Meet to benefit cancer research and awareness.

The 12th-ranked Gymdogs are currently (3-1, 2-1) and on a three-meet winning streak that will be tested by the 11th-ranked Missouri Tigers who also have just one loss are currently (5-1, 1-1).
Missouri comes to Athens with an impressive 5-1 record, though it lost last Friday to Alabama by a 197.225-195.500 final score. The Tigers had previously defeated Ball State and Illinois in a tri-meet, Arkansas, and Southeast Missouri and Lindenwood in another tri-meet.
Georgia carries strong momentum into the Friday night tilt, having won 10 of 12 possible event titles and all three all-around titles over the last three meets.
For the Pink and Green meet, the color pink will signify breast cancer while green stands for all types of cancer. There will be a silent auction at the Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center at the medical center’s table on the Carlton Street concourse. All proceeds will benefit the Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center Breast Health Center. Additionally, all fans are encouraged to wear pink and green to the meet instead of the standard red and black team colors.
The Gymdogs hold an all-time advantage of 12-2 over Missouri, and Georgia has swept all three home meetings between the teams. Head coach Danna Durante holds a record of 6-1 against the Tigers will spearheading the Georgia program.
