The Georgia Gymdogs will travel to Gainesville, Florida to compete in the NCAA Gymnastics Championship regionals on April 1st.

The six-team regional will be hosted by No. 3 Florida and will take place on Saturday, April 1st at 4:00 p.m. ET. Joining the Gymdogs and Gators will be No. 15 Missouri, No. 30 New Hampshire, No. 33 Penn State, and No. 35 North Carolina.

“We’re excited,” said Georgia head coach Danna Durante. “We’ve been to Gainesville already this year so we know the arena and we know the equipment. Being in the SEC, every week feels like the big stage. Coming off of the SEC Championship, there were some things that we did, things that we learned about ourselves. To be able to take that and build on it over the next week-and-a-half of practice is going to be great for our whole team.”

The two teams with the highest scores from each regional will advance to St. Louis, Missouri for the NCAA Semifinals and potentially Super Six on April 14 and 15 and Chaifetz Arena.

The Gymdogs will begin the meet on vault, head to a bye, bars, beam, another bye, and floor, respectively.

In 33 all-time regional appearances, Georgia has won 24 regional championships and finished second nine times. A year ago, the 10th-seeded Gymdogs advanced through the Athens regional and reached the Super Six for the third time in four years under Durante’s direction.
