Vance Leavy caught up with UGA President Jere Morehead yesterday at the announcement of Courtney Kupets Carter as Georgia’s new gymnastics coach and Suzanne Yoculan Leebern as a volunteer gymnastics coach.
 
 
President Morehead knew Carter when she was a student at the University:
 
 
“I’ve known Courtney since I served as faculty athletics representative and she was one of our most outstanding students at the University of Georgia and one a multitude of awards at this institution. So I couldn’t be happier to see her now leading a program of this nature, and of course, having Suzanne as a guiding force for her is going to be very beneficial.”
 
 
When asked if he cared to make a prediction about football team’s record for 2017, Morehead replied:
 
 
“I think our program is on an upward trajectory. I’m getting ready to leave on a trip right now with Coach Smart to do some fundraising for the new end zone. That is certainly our priority this spring.”
