Ali Kalayjian will transfer from Florida State University and join the University of Georgia soccer program, head coach Billy Lesesne announced.

Kalayjian played her freshman year at FSU, a team that advanced to the Elite 8 last season, and will have three years of eligibility remaining at Georgia.

The defender joins an already talented incoming class that includes forward Madison Haugen (Cumming, Ga.), midfielder Megan O’Neal (Dallas, Texas), forward Alexis Parker (Westmont, Ill.), forward Tori Penn (Atlanta, Ga.), forward Taylor Rish (Alpharetta, Ga.), midfielder Sydney Stephens (Waterloo, Ill.), and goalkeeper Lauren Swoopes (Snellville, Ga.).

“We are excited to have Ali join our soccer family as we continue to build and grow,” Lesesne said. “Ali brings a mentality and skill set that will immediately be impactful in our program. Ali is mature and a proven leader and she is determined to make our team stronger.  I look forward to seeing her on the field this fall.”

The Katonah, New York product played in two games as a Seminole, recording a season-high 25 minutes against Samford and taking one shot on goal against Villanova. She earned honorable mention all-league as a sophomore playing for Somers High School and was team captain for Alberston Fury’s U19 Team.  Before that, she played for PDA at the U16/17 level for two years.
