ATHENS, Ga.—The Georgia soccer team is set to kick off the 2018 spring season on Wednesday, February 21 with a mid-week game against Furman at 7 p.m. at the Turner Soccer Complex.

“We are excited to play our first spring match. It’s nice to be able to play in our stadium and be back in our element. A lot of times we spend our eight hours doing a lot of running and lifting, so it’s great to be able to reward the team with the opportunity to play. The team has trained hard both on and off the field and we look forward to putting our work to the test.”

The Paladins of Furman finished the 2017 season with a 12-5-3 record and reached the semifinals of the SoCon Tournament.

In 2017, Georgia completed the ninth-toughest schedule in the NCAA with a 4-12-2 record. Georgia set an attendance record at the new soccer stadium located at the Turner Soccer Complex when 2,457 fans showed up on September 3 to cheer on the Bulldogs against Clemson. UGA ranked 19th in the country in accumulative attendance and sixth in the SEC with 11, 460, while ranking 14th nationally in average attendance and fifth in the SEC with 1,273.
