[su_spacer size=”20″] The Georgia softball team is set to welcome the Georgia Southern Eagles to Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, Ga., for a midweek, non-conference tilt. The Bulldogs enters the week with an overall record of 28-5 that includes a 6-3 mark in Southeastern Conference play. Georgia is also riding a four-game win streak that began last Wednesday vs. Georgia Tech. Georgia Southern is 8-21 on the season.

Georgia leads the all-time series with Georgia Southern 25-1. The Bulldogs and Eagles faced off last season when Georgia took a 4-1 decision in Athens.

Georgia is on a four-game win streak that began last weekend against Georgia Tech. In those four games, Georgia has out scored its opponents 45-5.
[su_spacer size=”40″] RUN RULE SWEEP
Georgia swept its series against Arkansas last weekend. It is the first season sweep of the year for the Bulldogs. Georgia won each of the game by way of a run-rule, marking the first time in program history that the Bulldogs earned a run-rule sweep in a three-game SEC series.
[su_spacer size=”40″] ISN’T IT GRAND X 2
Georgia had a pair of grand slams last weekend. Alex Hugo hit her first career grand slam in the 14-0 win over Georgia Tech. Anna Swafford got in on the action, hitting a grand slam, also a career first, against Arkansas.
[su_spacer size=”40″] SEC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Chelsea Wilkinson was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week. It is the first SEC honor for Wilkinson this season and the third of her career. It is the third time this season that a Georgia player has been honored by the league office for a weekly award. She went 3-0 last week, with a combined no hitter, struck out 18 batters and allowed just one run on four hits in 14 innings of work for an ERA of 0.50. She also threw a complete-game one hitter against Arkansas.

Georgia takes to the road for a Saturday-Monday series in Knoxville, Tenn., against the Tennessee Lady Vols. The Sunday and Monday games will be televised on the SEC Network.
