LOOKING BACK ON THE SERIES AT FLORIDA
Georgia fell in a tough series at No. 3 Florida. For the weekend, Cortni Emanuel and Sydni Emanuel put up four hits apiece, as S. Emanuel now has 20 multi-hit games this season and 70 in her Georgia career. Ciara Bryan led the team with a .429 batting average after tabbing three hits, including double. In the circle, Kylie Bass saw seven innings of relief over all three games, allowing just three hits, no runs and a walk while striking out nine.
CORTNI LEADS OFF THE OFFENSE
There is no surprise that C. Emanuel leads off the offense at the No. 1 spot in the lineup. The junior is hitting .419 on the season with 52 hits while leading the SEC with 36 stolen bases. She is also a tough out at the plate. As of April 11, C. Emanuel is one of 12 players in the nation who have struck out eight or less times as the leadoff hitter (at least 30 games played). So far this season, C. Emanuel is hitting .516 when leading off an inning.
BASS SOLID IN CIRCLE VS. FLORIDA
Bass came in as relief in all three games at Florida, putting up a team-best nine strikeouts while allowing just three hits in seven innings of action. In game two, the sophomore put up a season-high six strikeouts, which is also a career high in SEC action for Bass after putting up five versus Ole Miss in 2015 and five against Auburn this year. She also threw her highest number of innings versus a SEC opponent with 4.1 frames in game two against the Gators, topping the 3.2 she put in against the Rebels and Tigers as well. The Gray, Georgia, native only has one start in SEC action, facing South Carolina last season.
