Armistead had a remarkable inside-the-park-home run in the second straight down the right-field line. This expanded Georgia’s lead to 2-0.

The Vols scored a run in the third inning and again in the fourth inning. In the bottom of the fourth Lyndi Rae Davis plated Kearney with an incredible double to right field. A bases-loaded walk scored pinch-runner CJ Landrum. Lacey Fincher was walked after being hit by a pitch shortly after and Hayley Eaton scored. The Bulldogs extended their lead by 3.

Fincher plated Armistead with an RBI single in the sixth and shortly after Kearney singled to right field and scored pinch-runner Faith Barth and Kuma.
