After dropping game one on Friday night, the Georgia softball team got revenge on Saturday against the Hogs, taking game two by a score of 6-2 in Fayetteville.

Georgia capitalized on six hits, including four that went for extra bases. Alyssa DiCarlo and Maeve McGuire each posted a double, Kendall Burton tabbed her fourth triple of the year while Lacey Sumerlin put up a home run in the sixth. McGuire and Cortni Emanuel collected two hits against a staff of Razorback pitchers, as starter Caroline Hedgcock (3-4) took the loss.

Brittany Gray (18-10) held the home team to three hits, as she went six innings with a walk and seven strikeouts. Kylie Bass threw a hitless seventh inning to close out the win.

Georgia held a 6-0 lead after 5.5 played, climbing ahead early with a two-run first frame. Two Arkansas errors let C. Emanuel and McGuire round the bases before DiCarlo belted out an RBI double for one run in the third. Burton’s one-out triple led to a 4-0 lead after five while Sumerlin hit a two-run home run to left center in the sixth.

Arkansas cut the lead to 6-2 after a RBI triple from Loren Krzysko and a Bulldog fielding error. However, a web gem catch into the right field wall by Burton along with holding the Razorbacks’ threat in the seventh sealed the win and tied the series for the Bulldogs.
