The 25th-ranked, (33-21) Georgia softball team is set to take on (40-10) Jacksonville State in the opening game of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional on Friday at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Making its 16th straight NCAA Regional appearance, Georgia’s game with the Ohio Valley Conference Champion will air nationally on ESPN2, as the network is set to cover every game at all 16 Regional sites. Host and No. 4 national seed Florida State (51-6-1) takes on Ivy League Champion Princeton (25-18) immediately after at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

The schedule for the weekend continues with Saturday’s games scheduled for noon, 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. ET while Sunday will be at noon ET with the if-necessary game at 2:30 p.m. ET. The regional round of play features a double elimination bracket. The Bulldogs have met Jacksonville State three times in program history, holding a 2-1 mark over the Gamecocks. The teams last met a year ago with Georgia taking a 9-0 victory in Orlando.

Georgia is 8-6 against Florida State with the squad’s last meeting in the 2016 Women’s College World Series with Georgia recording a 5-4 win. If the teams meet this weekend, it will be the fifth time competing in a NCAA Regional game, as Georgia is 3-2 against the Seminoles in the postseason’s first round.

The Bulldogs won the only two meetings with Princeton back in 2002.
