After throwing the ninth perfect game in school history on Sunday, Georgia softball senior Chelsea Wilkinson was named the SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Wilkinson tossed 14-shutout innings over three games at the Disney Citrus Classic last weekend, highlighted with her second-career perfect game against UAB to conclude the tournament. The right-handed hurler struck out six of the 15 Blazer batters she faced, including the final three. Her fifth win of the season was also the fifth complete-game no-hit effort by Wilkinson since arriving in Athens.

The North Carolina native also tabbed wins over Omaha and Stephen F. Austin, allowing just two hits in each of those run-rule wins. After posting a season-high nine strikeouts against SFA, Wilkinson finished the weekend with 23 total. Wilkinson allowed just four baserunners off of the four total hits all weekend after not issuing any walks and holding opponents to a .087 batting average.

Wilkinson and the Bulldogs head west this week, facing five opponents at the second weekend of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. Games for Georgia begin on Thursday, Feb. 25 with a doubleheader against LIU Brooklyn and Cal State Fullerton.
