LOOKING BACK ON THE SERIES VS. MISSISSIPPI STATE

Georgia fell in the series 2-1 against Mississippi State over the weekend. Georgia posted 20 hits in the series, as Cortni Emanuel, Alyssa DiCarlo and Sydni Emanuel each had four apiece. The team had five of those go for extra bases, including home runs from DiCarlo and Maeve McGuire as well as a pair of doubles in game two for Alysen Febrey. Freshmen pitchers Amanda Ablan and Mary Wilson Avant saw a combined 19 innings in the circle, as the two struck out a total of 11 batters.

GEORGIA TAKES DOWN GEORGIA TECH

A four-run sixth inning propelled Georgia to a 7-2 victory over Georgia Tech, making it the ninth straight win over the in-state rival.

Up 3-2 going into the sixth, a DiCarlo single followed by walks to Lacey Sumerlin and Brea Dickey loaded the bases for Kendall Burton to earn an RBI the hard way with a hit by pitch. Febrey then notched her third hit of the night to allow two to score before Jordan Doggett wrapped up the 7-2 win with an RBI single.

Febrey was 3-for-3 on the night, as Georgia took 10 hits off the Jackets. C. Emanuel and DiCarlo each notched two hits apiece. Kylie Bass posted her second complete game of the year, allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out a season-high seven batters.

BASS RECORDS 100TH CAREER STRIKEOUT

Kylie Bass picked up her 100th career strikeout after posting a season-high seven against Georgia Tech. The sophomore now holds 105 in her career through 120 innings pitched, as she is holding opponents to a .195 batting average.

DICARLO WITH DOUBLE-DIGIT HOME RUNS

For the second-straight season, Alyssa DiCarlo will hold double-digit home runs. Her solo shot against Mississippi State on Friday night put her with 10 on the season after posting 11 a season ago. In 2015, DiCarlo led all freshmen with 63 RBI and was 15th overall in the nation. This year, her 48 RBI have her tied for 13th nationally.
