The University of Georgia will play host to a top-20, three-game softball series this weekend at Jack Turner Stadium as the No. 16 Bulldogs take on the No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats starting at high noon on Saturday.

The Lady Diamond Dogs are 24-3 on the year and are riding a 12-game winning streak having swept five teams in the UCF Wilson/DeMarini Tournament last weekend. The Wildcats have played in five fewer contests but have been impressive with 18 wins and only 4 losses on the season. This weekend’s series marks the beginning of Southeastern Conference play for both teams.

All three games will be featured on the SEC Network with Saturday starting at 12 noon ET and Sunday’s and Monday’s games are both scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET first pitch. Live stats will be available via georgiadogs.com and admission to Jack Turner Stadium is free.

For Georgia, senior Sydni Emanuel is batting a blistering .522 with 47 hits in 90 at-bats and is second on the team in RBIs with 27. Sophomore Alyssa DiCarlo has been smashing the ball and currently leads the team with 8 home runs on the year and also leads the Bulldogs with 39 RBIs. Sydni’s younger sister, junior Cortni Emanuel has been burgling bases all season long with 30 stolen bases in 32 attempts for Georgia. Meanwhile, on the mound, junior Brittany Gray has been dominant with an ERA of 1.62 and 74 strikeouts in 82.1 innings pitched with 15 wins to just 1 loss. As a group, Georgia’s pitching staff has a stifling 1.70 ERA over 27 games.

Kentucky’s leading hitters are freshman catcher Vick Bailey with a .370 batting average and sophomore Abbey Cheek leads the Wildcats in home runs with 5 and RBIs with 18. Cheek is batting .358 this season. Junior Erin Rethlake is second on the team with a .368 batting average and leads the team in stolen bases with a perfect 15 for 15 on the year. Bulldog hitters are likely to face pitcher Meagan Prince who has put in the most work for Kentucky on the mound with 59.1 innings pitched. Prince has been pretty tough to hit with opponents batting 0.192 against the senior in 2018 at-bats. Prince has struck out 60 batters and compiled a low 1.06 ERA. Rethlake also has been good on the mound with a 0.58 ERA in 36.1 innings of relief work, allowing opponents only 19 hits in 124 at-bats.
