UGA Softball: Series Finale with Tech Tonight

The 12th-ranked UGA softball team will close out the regular-season series with Georgia Tech on Wednesday, April 8 at 7 p.m., at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, Ga. Georgia enters the game with an overall record of 31-10, while Georgia Tech is 14-25. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.

Georgia holds a commanding 25-10 lead in the all-time series against Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs have won five-straight against the Yellow Jackets. During the win streak, the Bulldogs have earned three run rule wins.

With Georgia’s 14-0, five-inning win over Georgia Tech earlier this year, the Bulldogs have now won five-straight games over the Yellow Jackets. In those games, Georgia has out scored Georgia Tech 72-10. Georgia has out scored the Yellow Jackets 43-2 in the last three games played in Atlanta.

Georgia is 23-3 in non-conference games this season. The Bulldogs have out scored its non-conference opponents 227-52. Georgia is 15-1 in home non-conference games this season.

In addition to Georgia’s impressive non-conference resume, the Bulldogs have also been successful at home. Georgia is 21-4 this season at home and is out scoring its opponents 216-69 in those games.

Tina Iosefa came through in the clutch in the series finale against No. 21/21 Missouri last week. With the game tied at 4-4, Iosefa stepped up to the plate with two runners on and delivered a walk-off single to left center. The hit allowed Alex Hugo to race from second base to home for the game-winning run.

Georgia takes to the road for a three-game series against Ole Miss this weekend. The series starts at 7 p.m., on Friday, April 10.
