Georgia swimmer Greg Reed has been selected as the Southeastern Conference Male Freshman of the Week, according to an announcement Tuesday by the league office.

Reed, a native of Roanoke, Va., earned the SEC Male Freshman of the Week honor for the second time this year.

In the Bulldogs’ win over Saturday, Reed had the meet’s top times in the 500 and 1,000 freestyle, stopping the clock in 4:26.01 and 9:04.48, respectively. Reed also swam the second leg of a 400 freestyle relay that posted an exhibition time of 3:06.92.

Reed and his Georgia teammates will return to action on Saturday as they entertain Tennessee at noon. Georgia’s seniors will be recognized in a pre-meet ceremony and the meet will be broadcast on SEC Network Plus.
