Three Georgia student-athletes have been chosen as SEC Swimmers of the Week.

Olivia Smoliga and Matias Koski were named the SEC Female and Male Swimmer of the Week, respectively, by the league office. Hali Flickinger earned SEC Female Swimmer of the Week honors from CollegeSwimming.com.

Smoliga, a junior from Glenview, Ill., earned three NCAA automatic qualifying standards during the UGA Fall Invitational. She set the two best times in the nation in winning the 50-yard freestyle (21.82) and the100-yard freestyle (47.69). She posted a time of 51.50 to place second in the 100-yard backstroke, the third-best time in the country this season. Smoliga helped the 400-yard freestyle relay win, the 400-yard medley relay come in second, and the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relays place third.

Koski, a senior from Duluth, Ga., had a busy week. On Thursday, Koski won the consolation final of the 400-meter freestyle at the U.S. Winter Nationals in Federal Way, Wash., with a time of 3:49.37, the second-fastest time in the evening session. His 400-meter freestyle time converts to 4:15.74 in the 500-yard freestyle, which is seventh in the nation. Koski then flew cross country and swam Saturday and Sunday in the UGA Fall Invitational. He led off the 800-yard freestyle relay with an A-cut time of 1:33.07 ‹ the fastest time in the country. Koski also registered B cuts in the 100-yard freestyle (43.01) and the 1,650-yard freestyle (14:58.36). He stands sixth nationally in the 100-yard freestyle.
