Georgia Men’s Swimming: 15 Dawgs Headed to NCAA Championships

[su_spacer size=”20″] The Georgia men’s swimming team will have 15 participants at the NCAA Championships later this month, according to an announcement made Wednesday by the NCAA.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Bulldogs had Gunnar Bentz, Pace Clark, Taylor Dale, Nicolas Fink, Chase Kalisz, Matias Koski, Jay Litherland, Kevin Litherland, Mick Litherland, Jared Markham, Garrett Powell, Ty Stewart and Michael Trice invited to the meet. Alec Cohen and Chris Powell will join the Bulldogs as relay-only alternates.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The NCAAs will take place March 26-28 in Iowa City, Iowa. The Bulldogs placed fifth a year ago.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Fink has the nation’s top times this season in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Kalisz, the two-time defending champion in the 400 individual medley, is seeded first in that event and is also sixth in the 200 butterfly and eighth in the 200 individual medley.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Koski is second in the 1,650 freestyle, fourth in the 500 freestyle and fifth in the 200 freestyle. Stewart is seeded fifth in the 200 individual medley and 10th in the 200 butterfly. Bentz stands fifth and Jay Litherland is 10th in the 400 individual medley.
