Jack Bauerle Leads Team USA to Victory

Georgia head coach Jack Bauerle and three of his swimmers helped the United States win a seventh consecutive Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool title on Saturday.

 

With Bauerle serving as the head coach, Team USA dispatched Europe 155-107 and set two world and 16 American short course meters records during the two-day event at IUPUI.

 

Senior Hali Flickinger placed second in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 3:58.26 and came in third in the 200-meter butterfly in 2:04.72.

 

Former Lady Bulldog Melanie Margalis won the 200-meter breaststroke as she reached the ball in 2:18.35. She also took third in the 200-meter individual medley (2:06.34) and fourth in the 200-meter freestyle (1:54.35).

 

Former Bulldog Nicolas Fink took fourth in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:03.62.

 

Television coverage of the Duel in the Pool will air Saturday, Dec. 19, on Universal HD from 2-4 p.m. and on NBC from 4-6 p.m.
