SWIMMING and DIVING: Caroline Aikins and Tan Dunn Join the Bulldogs

UGA’s Tom Cousins Swimming and Diving Head Coach Jack Bauerle announced on Wednesday that Caroline Aikins and Tan Davis have signed their national letters of intent to complete the Bulldogs’ swimming and diving recruiting class.

 

Both Caroline and Tan are Georgia natives will join the UGA program as freshmen for the 2018-19 season. Bauerle previously announced the signings of 13 swimmers.

 

Aikins hails from Cumming, where she attends Lambert High School and competes for SwimAtlanta under Coach Landon Harris. She is a three-time state finalist in the 100 backstroke and the 200 individual medley, and she won a state championship as a member of Lambert’s 200 medley relay. Aikins has helped Lambert claim two state championships. She is the younger sister of current Lady Bulldog Katherine Aikins.

 

Dunn is from Peachtree City. He attends McIntosh High School and swims for Southern Crescent Aquatic Club under Coach Stu Wilson (a former Bulldog). Dunn qualified for the Olympic Trials in the 100 backstroke and the USA Swimming Winter Nationals in the 200 backstroke. He is one of the state’s top three prospects in the 50 butterfly, 50 breaststroke, and 50 and 100 backstroke.

 

“Caroline and Tan will be great additions to our program,” Bauerle said. “They are hard workers and they have shown great improvement the last few years. We are thrilled that they will be joining us in Athens.”
