The Bulldog’s Swimming and Diving teams had a pair of swimmers representing the ladies and the men earn conference honors from last weekend’s competition. Georgia’s Taylor Dale and Brittany MacLean earned weekly awards on Tuesday from TeamUnify/CollegeSwimming and the Southeastern Conference, respectively, based on their efforts against Wisconsin last Saturday.

Dale, a junior from Dalton, Ga., was chosen as the SEC Male Swimmer of the Week by TeamUnify/CollegeSwimming for the second straight meet. Dale swept the backstroke races, finishing the 100 in 47.55 and the 200 in 1:45.24. He was a member of both the winning 200 medley relay (1:27.07) and the 400 freestyle relay (2:56.16).

MacLean, a senior from Etobicoke, Toronto, earned SEC Female Swimmer of the Week from the league office. In Georgia’s 100th consecutive home dual meet win, MacLean claimed three events and was on a victorious relay. MacLean won the 200 freestyle in 1:48.15, the 500 freestyle in 4:47.37 and the 1,000 freestyle in 9:37.31. Her 1,000 freestyle time is her season high and ranks second in the country this year. MacLean swam second on the 400-yard freestyle relay that touched first in 3:20.36.

Georgia’s squads concluded the regular season against Wisconsin and will return to action at the SEC Championship in Columbia, Mo., Feb. 16-20. The Lady Bulldogs finished the season 9-0, the 14th undefeated campaign in UGA history, while the Bulldogs finished 8-1.
