The University of Georgia diving team will be competing today through Wednesday in the NCAA Zone B Championships at Auburn’s James E. Martin Aquatics Center.

The Zone B event marks the only way divers can advance to the NCAA Championships March 15-18 for the women and March 22-25 for the men, both in Indianapolis. Georgia has 14 female swimmers already qualified for the NCAAs, while the male qualifiers will be confirmed this week.

Competing for the Lady Bulldogs in the Zone B Championship will be McKensi Austin, Olivia Ball, Madison Duvall, Allison Greene and Kelly Thatcher. Charlie Clifton, Ian Forlini and Walker Wheeler will be representing the Bulldogs.

Joining Georgia’s divers will be student-athletes from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami (Fla.), North Carolina, North Carolina State, North Carolina-Wilmington, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The Zone B Championships will start Monday at 11 a.m. with men 1-meter springboard, followed by women’s 3-meter. On Tuesday, the women’s 1-meter will begin at 11 a.m., followed by men’s 3-meter. The men’s and women’s platform events will kick off at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

The top four male and five female divers on each board will move on to the NCAAs. Additional place finishers will be determined by the Zone B divers who finished in the top 16 in that event at last year’s NCAAs.

Live results for the meet will be available on DiveMeets.com.
