The Georgia women’s swimming and diving team placed second and the Bulldogs finished third as the UGA Fall Invitational came to a conclusion on Sunday at Gabrielsen Natatorium.
The Lady Bulldogs wound up with 833.5 points to take second. Michigan won with 991.5 points and California was third with 830. On the men’s side, California (1,014) took first, Michigan (915) was second and Georgia (674) was third.
“We are pleased with how things went this weekend,” Senior Associate Head Coach Harvey Humphries said. “The kids raced hard, they competed hard, and they showed great improvement. We have plenty of positives that we can build on moving forward.”
On Sunday, Freida Lim won the platform diving title with 289.45 points, which reached the NCAA Zone qualifying standard. McKensi Austin came in eighth with 212.00 points.
Olivia Anderson placed third in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 16:07.07. Emmaline Peterson took seventh in 16:33.20, while Meg Finnon was eighth in 16:37.44, Sandra Scott was 11th in 16:48.74, Jordan Stout was 12th in 16:56.46, and Shauna Lee was 14th in 17:05.16.
Kylie Stewart led the Lady Bulldogs’ charge in the 200 backstroke as she placed third in 1:51.88. Meryn McCann claimed eighth with a time of 1:55.57. Courtney Harnish (1:56.71), Sammie Burchill (1:57.22) and Maddie Wallis (1:57.76) were 12th, 13th, and 14th, respectively.
Veronica Burchill came in third in the 100 freestyle as she reached the wall in 47.89.
Meaghan Raab placed third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:10.16. Danielle Della Torre finished fifth in 2:12.33. Jordyn Gulle won the consolation final in 2:12.64 to take ninth, while Anna McKenzie came in 14th in 2:15.75.
In the 200 butterfly, Megan Kingsley came in third with a time of 1:54.43, followed by Chelsea Britt (1:54.80) in fourth, Caitlin Casazza (1:56.46) in sixth and Harnish (1:59.47) in 12th.
The Lady Bulldogs capped the meet with a fourth-place showing in the 400 freestyle relay. Veronica Burchill, Stewart, Wallis and Harnish stopped the clock in 3:15.05.
Camden Murphy came in third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:41.74. Mick Litherland took eighth in 1:44.73. Blake Atmore claimed 11th in 1:45.68 and Powell Brooks placed 12th in 1:45.93.
Zach Allen finished third on tower with 317.15 points, followed by Josh Getty in eighth with 206.30 points.
James Guest (1:55.06) and Basil Orr (1:56.47) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200 breaststroke.
Jay Litherland came in seventh in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:43.10. Javier Acevedo was 12th in 1:45.03, followed by Clayton Forde in 14th in 1:47.33, Tal Davis in 15th in 1:49.59 and Aidan Burns in 16th in 1:50.87.
Kevin Litherland paced the Bulldogs in the 1,650 freestyle, finishing seventh in 15:06.90. Aaron Apel followed in 15:09.78 for eighth, while Greg Reed was 10th in 15:15.69 and Kevin Miller took 11th in 15:17.78.
In the 400 freestyle relay, Javier Acevedo, Murphy, Alex BeMiller and Jay Litherland placed seventh with a time of 2:55.14.

Georgia’s teams will be idle until the Tennessee Diving Invitational Jan. 3-5 and a dual meet against LSU at Gabrielsen Natatorium on Jan. 13.
