The home match of the University of Georgia men’s tennis team vs. LSU on Thursday, March 23 at 6 p.m. ET has been selected as part of the 2017 College MatchDay series on ESPN.

The 2017 College MatchDay series will showcase many of the country’s top college tennis programs and players through three matches on college campuses and six being played at the USTA National Campus in Orlando. All nine matches in the series will be streamed live on ESPN3 through WatchESPN and the ESPN app.

“It is an honor to be chosen as one of the sites for the 2017 USTA College MatchDay series,” head coach Manuel Diaz said. “We are fortunate to play at the top collegiate tennis venue in the nation, and we look forward to showcasing our program on ESPN during the regular season. The USTA College MatchDay series means so much for this sport. I can’t say enough about the USTA and what they do for college tennis in giving our school and our conference great exposure.”

In last year’s meeting, Georgia won 4-3 on the road against then-No. 44 LSU. The victory was part of the Bulldogs’ 12-0 campaign in conference play, leading to their fourth-straight SEC regular season title.

The Bulldogs are in action this weekend as they host one of the 15 sites of ITA Kickoff Weekend. The action starts Friday at 9 a.m. with Washington vs. Alabama in the first semifinal match, followed by Georgia and Purdue at 1 p.m. The consolation match will be Saturday at 5 p.m., while the championship will be played Sunday at 1 p.m. The champion will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Charlottesville, Va., Feb. 17-19.
