Georgia men’s tennis junior Philip Henning, who went 4-0 in singles and doubles last weekend, earned the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Wednesday.

The Bloemfontein, South Africa native has won six-straight singles contest to lead Georgia to a perfect 6-0 mark in those matches.

Both of his victories this week, including a triumph against No. 64-ranked Juan Carlos Aguilar, came in straight-sets. Henning leads Georgia with an 18-9 overall singles mark, including a 9-3 record against SEC foes.

Henning and teammate Erik Grevelius won both of their doubles matches last week, capped off by a 6-3 clincher against LSU on Sunday. The Bulldog tandem owns a 10-4 dual-match record this season.

Georgia is busy preparing for the SEC tournament, which takes place April 19-23 in Fayetteville, Ark.
