UGA vs Texas A&M Women’s Tennis: The fourth-ranked Lady Bulldogs (17-2, 10-1) hit double-digit conference wins, grabbing SEC win number 10 on the year with 5-2 victory over the No. 18 Lady Aggies (14-9, 6-6) Sunday afternoon on the road in College Station.

The Bulldogs got a strong contribution from the bottom three courts with three wins, two of which were finished in straight sets. Sixth-ranked singles player Ellen Perez continued her perfect SEC record, earning her 10th victory in conference play with a three-set win over No. 35 Saska Gavrilovska.

The doubles point went to Georgia for the fourth-consecutive match. The first win in doubles came from the third-court pairing of Caroline Brinson and Laura Patterson, a dominant 6-0 display. The 23rd-ranked pair of Perez and Mariana Gould then came through with the clincher, taking the final three games to win 6-3.

The Aggies quickly tied the match with a 6-2, 6-1 on the third court, drawing even at 1-1. Patterson then came through for the Bulldogs, remaining perfect in SEC play with a 7-5, 6-4 decision on the No. 6 court to claim a 2-1 edge.

Perez gave Georgia a 3-1 lead with a come-from-behind victory, winning the last two sets on the top court to remain perfect on the year in SEC play with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 win. Brinson followed by clinching the match for Georgia with a straight-sets win, defeating Ines Deheza 6-3, 7-6 and 7-5 in the second-set tiebreak.

Gould finished next, finishing strong to come back from a big third-set deficit to take a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 decision on the fifth court. The final result came on the second court, a three-set loss from Shaffer for the 5-2 final score.

The Bulldogs return home next week as they play host to rival Florida on Friday before capping the regular season on Sunday with South Carolina.
