PACIFIC PALISADES, CALIF.—–The Georgia duo of Elena Christofi and Morgan Coppoc fell short in their quest for the doubles consolation title Sunday at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.

 
The Bulldog tandem, ranked 34th nationally, got down 4-0 to the fourth-ranked team of Jada Hart and Ena Shibahara (UCLA) in the final. They closed the gap to 6-4 but eventually fell 8-4.
 
 
The Christofi/Coppoc duo return home with a 7-4 mark as they managed to post three wins over top 20 opponents at this event. As consolation finalists, the Christofi/Coppoc team has earned automatic entry into the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships set for Nov. 1-5 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Palm Desert, California.
 
 
The road to the consolation final for the Bulldogs began this past Friday with an 8-1 win over the 14th-ranked Michigan State duo of Emily Metcalf and Davina Nguyen. On Saturday, they notched an 8-6 win over the sixth-ranked team of Arianne Hartono and Alexa Bortles (Ole Miss) and then beat the 15th-ranked duo of Vladica Babic and Sofia Blanco (Oklahoma State) 8-7(4).
 
 
The Bulldogs return to action Oct. 19-23 when they play host to the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, a singles and doubles event at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. Christofi is the defending singles champion.
