Accolades continue for the Georgia women’s track and field team as it was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Scholar Team of the Year for the outdoor season.

This marks the first time in program history that the Lady Bulldogs have garnered this honor outdoors and makes the Georgia women only the fourth team in history to sweep both the indoor and outdoor team honors in the same year. The Georgia men were named the outdoor Scholar Team of the Year nationally in 2014.

The Lady Bulldogs posted a 3.32 GPA during the 2016-17 academic year. On the track, the Georgia women complemented their second-place finish at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships with a runner-up finish at the NCAA outdoor meet during the month of June in Eugene, Oregon.
