Georgia track and field senior Ashinia Miller has been named the Southeastern Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, according to a league announcement.

Miller, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, opened his final outdoor season with a career-long shot put toss of 65 feet, 11Ž2 inches to win the Georgia Relays. This performance shot Miller to the top of the national list by two and a half feet and improved his No. 4 spot in the Bulldog record books. He returned in the discus and finished second with a top mark of 167-8.

Miller is the first Bulldog to earn an SEC weekly honor during the outdoor season. Indoors, senior Chanice Porter, freshman Denzel Comenentia and senior Garrett Scantling all garnered weekly conference awards.

Georgia returns to action at the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Atlanta on March 25-26.

Live stats and full results from all three meets this weekend will be posted at georgiadogs.com.
