Georgia’s track and field teams completed their final day at the Tiger Paw Invite in Clemson, S.C., on Saturday and the Bulldogs had success in a variety of field events to wrap up their last indoor regular season meet.

Standing fourth on the national list in the weight throw, junior Denzel Comenentia responded to fouls on his second and third throws with a mark of 72 feet, 1 inch on his fourth toss for fourth place. Comenentia improved his No. 2 spot on the collegiate descending order list in the shot put with a school record on Friday.

Senior Mady Fagan matched her season-best mark in the high jump of 6-0.75 on her third attempt to be the second collegiate finisher and third overall.

The Bulldogs had a pair of high jumpers reach 7-2.50 on the men’s side to finish third and fourth. Sophomore Darius Carbin hit a second attempt clearance at the height for third while junior Keenon Laine went over the bar on his third try at the height. Also of note, true freshman Antonios Merlos was sixth at a career-best mark of 7-0.50 on his third try.

Also in the jumps, senior Aliyah Johnson was fifth in the triple with a third attempt that measured a season-best distance of 42-4.

On the track, Jon Moses was third in the 3000 meters with an 8:22.04 while Tiffany Yue took fifth in the women’s 3000m after clocking a 10:07.32.

In the final day of the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, junior Jeramey Hampton ran a season-best time of 1:49.93 for 14th place in the 800m.

Georgia joins its other conference mates at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships in College Station, Texas, on Feb. 23-24.
