UGA volleyball team freshman outside hitter T’ara Ceasar has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week for a fourth time this season.

Ceasar became the first Bulldog volleyball player to earn Freshman of the Week more than any before her when she was earned the honor the third time on Sept. 25. Ceasar is now the only UGA player to earn a weekly SEC honor of any kind four times in a single season. Alexandra Oquendo was named Offensive Player of the Week three times in 2004.

This marks Georgia’s seventh weekly honor during the 2017 campaign. This is the most any UGA volleyball team has acquired in a single season. In 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2008, the program had four weekly awards.

During Friday’s straight-set win at Missouri, the freshman from Panama City, Fla. registered a total of 15 kills with a .400 hitting percentage. Her 15 kills guided the Georgia team to its second road sweep in a row. It’s the 14th time this season she has led the squad in kills and the 17th time she has eclipsed the double-digit kill mark. Her .400 hitting percentage matched a single-game high in SEC play this season. She added an ace and seven digs (co-led the team) in the victory over the Tigers.

Georgia returns to Stegeman Coliseum Wednesday for a matchup with the Arkansas Razorbacks. The 7 p.m., ET, match will air on ESPNU.
