Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

I think the size runs in his family. His cousin is a salesman that visits me. He’s a pretty big boy too

I can’t stand these analysts that don’t give our uniforms enough credit!!!! ESPN picked LSU as the best unifoems in the sec!!!!! Hate em!!!!!!!!

Yeah it will. Fromm might beat him out because he would already have a year in the system but we shall see

Greg Poole Like how the ball is centered in his chest. Holding the ball a little lower is actually more natural…but the QB gurus have convinced themselves there is a benefit to holding it up higher so that is what gets taught. Aaron Rogers came into the NFL holding the ball really high because that is what he was taught in college. Under the tutelage of head coach McCarthy, Rodgers’ pre-pass triangle set came down to between his numbers. The result was his motion became quicker, his power increased and his timing improved. You will never convince a QB guru that it’s beneficial to hold the ball down by the numbers more. It never ceases to amaze me how these myths get perpetuated to the point where they become universally accepted as the truth.

“In Aaron Rodgers’ particular situation, he had a very high ball carriage which I felt there was a stiffness to the way he carried the ball. It wasn’t as natural because he is a very good athlete and it’s something you didn’t see in my opinion in his earlier days, how good of an athlete he was and I think it’s something we’ve adjusted and he’s very natural with it. Every quarterback that I’ve ever coached, you’re always looking to improve their mechanics.” — McCarthy

Greg, gotta say whatever you spent on your new camera equipment was worth it! Beautiful stuff!

Fromm has really good vision. He looked off dbs and checked off receivers repeatedly. This kid is not coming the UGA to ride the pine.

MMCSDAWG I think he is bigger than Murray – looks thicker – everyone was commenting on his size – thickness

Bansai buckeroo I agree, but we are courting Solomon, Zamir, Akers and others , yeah we will turn some away and we do have a line but win big this year and next year and the courtship either doesn’t have to happen or it is a very short one.

DawgByte Bulldawg36 That and winning championships!  You can cheat like hell in the case of ole piss and what do they have to show for it??  Winning is the ultimate barometer!

Bulldawg36 Need to land a couple of 5 stars. Why LeCounte isn’t recognized as a 5 star by the 247 Sports rankings is beyond me.

Bulldawg36 We’re doing a great job of bringing kids on campus. The true litmus test is when they commit and sign their LOI.

Greg Poole Like hearing that!  I like this kids attitude!  He might be a bigger stronger A. Murray type QB for us!
