[su_spacer size=”20″] Another center pushes us in to 60 days till Georgia kicks off their 2015 college football season versus ULM, number 60 – Ben Jones.

[su_spacer size=”20″] Ben Jones is a graduate of Bibb County high school in Centreville, Alabama. He was a member of the 2008 Bulldawg recruiting class and enrolled early January of that year. Big Ben made an instant impact on Georgia’s offensive line playing in 13 games and starting 10 of those as a true freshman. For his 2008 performance, Jones was named to the CollegeFootballNews.com’s Freshman All-American 1st team and the Coaches All-SEC Freshman 1st team. He also made the Freshman All-American 2nd teams for Phil Steel and the Sporting News.
[su_spacer size=”40″] His 2009 sophomore campaign saw Jones play in and start 13 games for the Dawgs, and he turned in an All-SEC performance once again being named to the Coaches All-SEC 2nd team. Ben played in all 13 games of his 2010 junior year and started in 12 of those. Number 60 would finish his senior season in 2011 at Georgia by starting all 14 games for the Bulldawgs and was named the team’s overall captain. His senior performance earned him 2nd team All-SEC from the AP, SEC Coaches, and Phil Steele as well 2nd team All-American honors by ESPN, Rivals.com, and Yahoo Sports.
[su_spacer size=”40″] For his career at Georgia on the o-line from 2008-2011, Jones played in 53 games and made 49 starts at center, ranking him 3rd in career starts by an offensive lineman all time. He was also named to UGA’s Team of the Decade. After UGA, Ben Jones went on to play professional football in the NFL. He was drafted in the 4th round at pick 99 by the Houston Texas in the 2012 NFL Draft.
