The sixth-ranked Georgia men’s tennis team will play its final two road matches of the regular season at Mississippi State Friday at 6 p.m. ET and at Alabama Sunday at 2 p.m.

Georgia (16-2, 8-0 SEC) enters the final two weeks of the regular season as the only unbeaten team in the conference. Texas A&M is in second place with an 8-1 SEC record, while Mississippi State is third at 6-2.

LAST TIME OUT: Georgia won its 10th consecutive match with a 4-1 victory over No. 17 Vanderbilt last Friday. The Bulldogs won the doubles point and went ahead 3-0 before Nick Wood eventually clinched the match at No. 5. It was Georgia’s sixth win against a top-20 opponent this season.
[su_spacer size=”40″] RANKINGS: Georgia came in at No. 6 in this week’s ITA Rankings. Singles and doubles rankings will be released again next week. For the first time since 2007, a Georgia doubles team is ranked No. 1 as Austin Smith and Ben Wagland took over the top spot last week. Wagland and Paul Oosterbaan are ranked 37th, while Smith and Eric Diaz are No. 70. In singles, Nathan Pasha is the highest ranked Bulldog at No. 18, while Wayne Montgomery is 28th and Smith is 31st.

• Georgia has won 10 matches in a row, its longest winning streak since 17 straight wins in 2013. The Bulldogs’ longest winning streak in 2014 was nine matches.

• Austin Smith and Ben Wagland are in their second week as the nation’s top-ranked doubles team. Previously the last Georgia doubles team to be ranked No. 1 was John Isner and Luis Flores in 2007. Smith and Wagland Smith are 9-1 this season with five of those wins against teams ranked in the top-12.

• Nathan Pasha needs two more wins to move into a tie for 10th on the all-time career doubles wins list at UGA. He is currently 96-44 and plays No. 2 doubles with Eric Diaz.

• Paul Oosterbaan and Smith have won seven completed matches in a row, while Peter Bertran has won five in a row.

• The Bulldogs are 30-1 in their last 31 regular season SEC matches.

• Wayne Montgomery has won a combined 42 singles and doubles matches this year, which leads the team.

• Six different players have clinched matches for the Bulldogs this season. Nick Wood lead the team with five match clinchers.
