Georgia adds 4th Scholarship QB

Former Arizona State QB, Jaden Rashada, has announced that he is transferring to the University of Georgia. Rashada is entering his sophomore year and played just one year with the Sun Devils. During his freshman season, he completed 44 passes for 485 yards, which resulted in 4 touchdowns. Kirby Smart has previously mentioned that Georgia would like to always have four scholarship QBs on the team. Since Rashada entered the portal less than a week ago, the Dawgs had been in the running.

Anyone who follows recruiting may remember the crazy situation that unfolded with Rashada’s recruitment. He was initially committed to the Florida Gators. He even signed his NLI with the Gators on signing day. Yet, soon after, rumors circulated that Florida’s NIL collective allegedly was not paying the amount to which the two parties had agreed. Rashada was able to get out of his NLI, and he then went on to sign with Arizona State.

Rashada was rated a 4-star across recruiting sites in High School and was a consensus top 10 quarterback in the Class of 2023. He played at Pittsburg High School in California. There, he threw for 5,816 yards (70 TDs) on 402 completions. 90.7% of those yards came from his Junior and Senior seasons.

Georgia has now seemingly completed their Quarterback roster heading into the 2024 season. Carson Beck is primed for his Heisman campaign and is the clear starter, but what does this mean for 2025? The 2025 quarterback position will be filled with competition. The job will most likely come down to Gunner Stockton and Jaden Rashada with their college experience. By the time the 2025 season rolls around, Gunner Stockton will be entering his 4th year with Georgia, and Jaden Rashada will be entering his third year of college ball. There’s a lot of time for all quarterbacks to make their case, but the competition in this room will 100% help the Dawgs in the long run.
