Commit To The G – Squad16 edit no.5 by Bob Miller
[su_spacer size=”40″] With National Signing Day less than a week away, it is finally time to narrow down my prediction on Georgia’s 2016 recruiting class.

[su_spacer size=”20″]
[su_spacer size=”20″]

QUARTERBACKS

[su_spacer size=”40″] Jacob Eason
Lake Stevens, Washington
6′ 5.5″ – 208 lbs
Rating: 5-star
Early Enrollee
[su_spacer size=”40″] Not much you can say about Eason, other than wow. Has great size for QB, especially with these huge OL Georgia has been bringing in. I would like to see him add some more weight to be able to take some sacks. He is very smart on the football field, and goes through his progressions well. Has a cannon of an arm, but at the same time has great touch. Will have to adjust quickly to the level of competition, if he wants to start for 2016.
[su_spacer size=”20″]
[su_spacer size=”20″]

RUNNING BACKS

[su_spacer size=”40″] Elijah Holyfield
Woodward Academy, Georgia
5’10″ – 204 lbs
Rating: 4-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] Holyfield is a very good running back. He is built like a brick wall. Has good balance, vision and burst. He has great lateral quickness. He doesn’t have great top end speed, but it isn’t bad either. He won’t be a back that’s going to take it 80 yards probably, but he will be back that will be hard to bring down with one person.
[su_spacer size=”20″]
[su_spacer size=”20″]

WIDE RECEIVERS

[su_spacer size=”40″] Riley Ridley
Deerfield Beach, Florida
6’1.5″ – 198 lbs
Rating: 4-star
Early Enrollee
[su_spacer size=”40″] Ridley is not as explosive as his older brother Calvin. Not many people are though, and that is no knock on Riley. Still has high potential. He has good height while also being pretty thick. Can high point the ball, and will definitely help with him being an EE.
[su_spacer size=”40″]
Charlie Woerner
Charlie Woerner
[su_spacer size=”40″] Charlie Woerner
Rabun County, Georgia
6’5″ – 230 lbs
Rating: 4-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] Woerner is one of my favorite prospects of the class. I liked how he handled the process, and I am so intrigued to see how he does at Georgia. He could grow to be a TE. His size and speed just do not match. He will be a matchup NIGHTMARE for other teams.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Javon Wims
Hinds C.C
6’4″ – 215 lbs
Rating: 4-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] Wims has the chance to be a day one starter. He didn’t play much football in high school. He was was a basketball player originally, and then started playing football. One thing about Wims, is he can high point the ball and go get it. Basketball seems to help him there. Solid speed, great size, good jumping ability, and good hands. Hopefully Georgia can break the JUCO curse.
[su_spacer size=”20″]
[su_spacer size=”20″]

TIGHT ENDS

[su_spacer size=”40″] Isaac Nauta
IMG Academy, Florida
6′ 3″ – 244 lbs
Rating: 5-star
Early Enrollee
[su_spacer size=”40″] Nauta is the top TE in the class of 2016, and while some recruiting services dropped him from a 5-star prospect to a 4-star, they only did so because they didn’t feel like a TE deserved a 5-star rating. But that doesn’t change just how dominant of a player he was in high school at his position.
[su_spacer size=”20″]
[su_spacer size=”20″]

OFFENSIVE LINEMEN

[su_spacer size=”40″]
E.J. Price
E.J. Price
[su_spacer size=”40″] E.J. Price
Archer, Georgia
6’ 6″ – 311 lbs
Rating: 4-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] A lot of people worry about E.J. when they watch his film. He played guard a lot this season, but that is because he was needed there. E.J. will play tackle in college IMO, but at the moment he is raw. All most all OL need a redshirt year to prepare for SEC football. I would not be surprised if E.J. gets a redshirt.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Ben Cleveland
Toccoa, Georgia
6’ 6″ – 319 lbs
Rating: 4-star
Early Enrollee
[su_spacer size=”40″] Ben is one of if not the most freakish OL in this class. He’s huge and almost pure muscle. Athletic ability is off the charts. Will be interesting to see if he plays guard or tackle. I believe he has the ability to play both, but early playing time would most likely lead to guard. I am sure almost everyone saw the video of him running a 40. Just imagine him the pulling guard leading the way for Chubb.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Chris Barnes
Lee County, Georgia
6’ 5″ – 270 lbs
Rating: 3-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] Chris is more of a project in my opinion. He needs to grow some, but the good news there is, his dad is HUGE. Dad is like 6’7 and 300 pounds or somewhere around there. He has a bright future and has a mean streak. He could play on the inside or outside, just depends on how he progresses.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Solomon Kindley
Raines, Florida
6’ 5″ – 340 lbs
Rating: 3-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] This is exactly the kind of OL that Pittman is looking for. He is HUGE, but at the same time, has really good feet. He has some bad weight to lose, but shouldn’t be too hard. He will most likely redshirt. Even though he is so big, he is pretty good at blocking in space. Will be a OG.
[su_spacer size=”20″]
[su_spacer size=”20″]

DEFENSIVE LINEMEN

[su_spacer size=”40″] Michail Carter
Jackson, Georgia
6’ 4″ – 302 lbs
Rating: 4-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] Michail is a guy that is not talked about much. He doesn’t do a lot of media. IMO he is very underrated. He has good size at just north of 300 pounds. All around good defensive lineman with a great motor. Very quick at the line of scrimmage and he will be disrupting backfields for a few years at Georgia.
[su_spacer size=”40″]
Julian Rochester
Julian Rochester
[su_spacer size=”40″] Julian Rochester
McEachern, Georgia
6’ 5″ – 321 lbs
Rating: 4-star
Early Enrollee
[su_spacer size=”40″] Julian is a funny guy. He has a great personality, but is also a great player. Has got some serious power. He can just drive the center straight back. He has some things to work on and in my opinion still needs to lose some of the bad weight, which shouldn’t be a problem.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Tyler Clark
Americus Sumter, Georgia
6’ 3″ – 290 lbs
Rating: 4-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] Tyler really never wavered with his commitment to Georgia. He took a few visits to other schools when Richt got fired, but nothing too serious. He is very quick off the line! He isn’t as big as some of the other defensive lineman. One of the deepest DL class Georgia has had in awhile.
[su_spacer size=”40″] David Marshall
Upson-Lee, Georgia
6′ 3″ – 275 lbs
Rating: 3-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] I think David flips to Georgia on NSD. You could tell he was a big priority for Smart. As soon as Smart got hired he offered David. They haven’t let off since. He loved his official visit to Athens, and I honestly think it made him want to be at UGA.
[su_spacer size=”20″]
[su_spacer size=”20″]

LINEBACKERS

[su_spacer size=”40″] Brian Burns
American Heritage, Florida
6’ 4.5″ – 209 lbs
Rating: 4-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] Leonard Floyd 2.0 right here. His body type is the exact same. Quick off the edge and very explosive. Great pass rusher and will be able to run right around many tackles. Will need to add some bulk but he will be a very good player. Not very confident in this pick as he could stay instate with FSU.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Chauncey Manac
Clinch County, Georgia
6’ 3″ – 250 lbs
Rating: 4-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] One of, if not the most underrated commits for Georgia. He has the right size to play OLB, but be able to slide to DE in certain sets. Very smart player. While he is a pretty thick and big guy, he is still quick and fast. Isn’t afraid to deliver a big hit.
[su_spacer size=”40″]
Jaleel Laguins
Jaleel Laguins
[su_spacer size=”40″] Jaleel Laguins
Oconee County, Georgia
6’ 2″ – 209 lbs
Rating: 4-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] Jaleel kind of swayed when Richt got fired, especially since Ekeler left. He had an amazing relationship with him, and was just confused with all the coaching changes. It will be interesting to see how he fits with what Kirby wants. He is a talented player though, and there is no doubt about that.
[su_spacer size=”20″]
[su_spacer size=”20″]

DEFENSIVE BACKS

[su_spacer size=”40″] Tyrique Mcghee
Peach County, Georgia
5’ 11″ – 177 lbs
Rating: 3-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] Tyrique has the potential to be a shutdown DB. He was very quiet throughout most of the recruiting process. He took a couple visits to Auburn, but that was it. Has good hips and can stay right with the WR. Played on offense some and was a very good blocker, so he is not afraid to be physical.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Chad Clay
Peachtree Ridge, Georgia
6’ 1″ – 180 lbs
Rating: 3-star
Early Enrollee
[su_spacer size=”40″] A lot of people questioned if Chad was that good or not during his junior year. He definitely improved a lot from his junior season to his senior season. He even returned once of his interceptions for a TD, so once he gets his hands on the ball he has good return ability.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Jeawon Taylor
Park Crossing, Alabama
6’ 2″ – 192 lbs
Rating: 3-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] I believe Jeawon will flip from Florida to Georgia. He is definitely underrated as he should be higher than a 3 star in my opinion. Jaewon is everything you look for in a DB. He will be a safety in my opinion. He is a big hitter. Has pretty good cover skills too. Has some amazing potential.
[su_spacer size=”20″]
[su_spacer size=”20″]

ATHLETES

[su_spacer size=”40″]
Mecole Hardman Jr.
Mecole Hardman Jr.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Mecole Hardman
Elbert County High School, Georgia
5′ 10.5″ – 176 lbs
Ranking: 5-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] Not enough can be said about Mecole. Awesome guy and person, but unreal football talents. Could put him on either side of the field and excel. Athletic ability is off the charts with a legit 4.3 40 time. I can’t decide if I want him more at DB or WR, but that isn’t a bad problem to have. He has stated he wants to play DB, but I expect him to get the ball in special teams or on offense too.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Demetris Robertson
Savannah Christian, Georgia
5′ 11.75″ – 175 lbs
Ranking: 5-star
[su_spacer size=”40″] Demetris is a very fluid athlete. He glides across the field. He has mentioned playing DB in college some, but his best bet is WR in my opinion. Just like Mecole, he has a legit 4.3 40 time. This one will most likely go past NSD just like Roquan Smith. So dawg fans will be waiting. I am not very confident in this pick, but just got a feeling Kirby can keep him in state.
