[su_spacer size=”20″] Ohio State stated that Jurkovic Jr. was not able to qualify academically, but other reports say he was late qualifying and became a victim of “roster management;” so, the Buckeyes could make the 85 scholarship limit by August set by the NCAA under bylaw 15.5.6 for all Division 1 FBS football programs. Regardless of the circumstances, Ohio State would not admit Jurkovic Jr, and he will be enrolling at UGA.

Jr.’s dad was the late Mirko Jurkovic who played on the offensive line as a guard at Notre Dame from 1988-1991 and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 1992 NFL Draft. Sadly, Jurkovic Jr’s dad passed away from colon cancer in 2013. Mirko Jurkovic Jr. also has an uncle, John Jurkovic, who played football for Eastern Illinois Unversity and also payed in the NFL at defensive tackle for 10 seasons for the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
