Tech’s Defense:

Georgia Tech’s total defense is ranked 42nd in the country and hardly intimidating. With a Bulldog’s offense that is surging and well balanced, it will be a tall task for Tech to limit Georgia. D’Andre Swift is peaking at the right time and when Jake Fromm has an effective rushing attack by his side his efficiency is through the roof. Georgia happens to be the 10th best rushing offense in the nation which is the toughest rushing offense Tech has played all season. Tech’s best bet is to bend don’t break and hold Georgia to field goals when they reach the red zone.

Coaching:

Last Year Kirby had an interesting scheme implemented with Roquan Smith running it at the helm. While Georgia may not be able to run the same formation since it lacks elite play specifically with the inside linebackers, he has done well against Tech in his two years in Athens. Georgia’s rushing defense has been a problem most of the year to an extent but has improved drastically as we’ve reached the end of the year. Expect Smart to be cooking up a scheme to limit Tech’s rushing attack and the fact they prepare all season for them during practice they will be adequately prepared for the triple option.

Special Teams:

The most forgotten part of the game almost all the time. Mecole Hardman and his threat in the return game along with Rodrigo Blankenship and his surefire leg gives the Dawgs a massive advantage in special teams play. Every time Tech has to punt or kickoff to Hardman that is a potential touchdown waiting to happen. Tech ranks outside the top 50 in kickoff return defense. Worst case, if Blankenship is in a duel with the opposing kicker, you can count on him to be money.
