Nick Chubb Named Candidate for Walter Camp Player of the Year

[su_spacer size=”20″] Georgia sophomore tailback Nick Chubb has been included on the watch list for the Walter Camp National Player of the Year, according to an announcement from the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Chubb is also on the watch lists for the Maxwell Award and the Doak Walker Award in his second year with the Bulldogs.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Chubb, a 5-10, 220-pound native of Cedartown, Ga., garnered Freshman All-America honors and was named the consensus Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year in 2014. He racked up 1,547 yards rushing, which is tied for fourth in school history for a single season (Garrison Hearst, 1992), and 14 touchdowns in his first season.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Herschel Walker won the 1982 Walter Camp National Player of the Year award during his final season in red and black. Walker also won the Maxwell Award that season.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Bulldogs start their 2015 season versus Louisiana-Monroe in Sanford Stadium at 12 p.m. on Sept. 5. The SEC Network will televise the matchup.
