The fifth-ranked Georgia equestrian team will take their final regular season ride on the road out in California versus sixth-ranked Fresno State at 1:00 p.m. ET today.

 
 
The Georgia Bulldogs head to California with an 8-4 record and a 4-2 mark in the Southeastern Conference after finishing the season undefeated at home. The Fresno State Bulldogs enter the meet with a 7-4 overall record, including a 3-1 record at home.
 
 
“What a great way to prepare for postseason by going on the road to a team that is tough to beat at home,” head coach Meghan Boenig said. “Moving quickly from one meet to the next is the preparation we need as we get ready for the SEC Championship and Nationals.”
 
 
SCOUTING FRESNO STATE:

Fresno State sits just below Georgia at sixth in the NCEA rankings this week with a 7-4 overall record.
 
 
Fresno State is coming off back-to-back wins against top-5 teams. The Bulldogs defeatd then-No. 1 Baylor in a 10-10 tie-breaker before returning the next day to defeat then-No. 5 SMU, 10-9.
 
 
Kylina Chalack and Natalie Wendt lead the Hunt Seat squad. Wendt has compiled a 5-3-2 record and two MOPs in Equitation on the Flat, while Chalack is 6-4-1 in Equitation Over Fences and has earned two MOP honors in Flat.
 
 
Taylor Brown leads the Western squad with a 9-2 record in Horsemanship and an 8-3 record in Reining. The senior has earned six MOP honors in both events this season.
 
 
FROM GEORGIA BULLDOG TO FRESNO STATE BULLDOG:

Fresno State Assistant Western Coach, McKenzie Lantz is a former member of the Georgia equestrian team and a 2014 graduate of The University of Georgia. During her time in the Red and Black, Lantz was a team captain, two-time NCEA All-American, as well as NCEA and SEC Reining Rider of the Year.

LAST TIME OUT:

The fifth-ranked Georgia equestrian team defeated the top-ranked Texas A&M Aggies, 12-4, on Senior Day to finish undefeated at home for the season. With the win, Georgia improved to 8-4, 4-2 in the SEC.

Highlighting the meet was senior Meg O’Mara who earned MOP honors in both Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat. The Rumson, New Jersey native remains undefeated in Equitation on the Flat for the season with a perfect 12-0 record. Sophomore Graysen Stroud earned MOP honors for her ride in Reining.

The Bulldog Hunt Seat squad defeated the Aggies, 8-1, only giving up one point in Equitation Over Fences. All eight points came from scores of 80 or above.

On the Western side, Georgia edged Texas A&M 4-3. Bailey Anderson earned Georgia’s lone point in Horsemanship, 73-67.5. Lindsey Cheek, Claudia Spreng, and Graysen Stroud all earned a score of 71 to defeat their Aggie opponents in Reining.
 
 
RIDING INTO POSTSEASON:

The SEC Championship will be held in Auburn, Alabama on March 24-25. The season will officially conclude at the NCEA National Championship to be held April 12-15 in Waco, Texas.
