Seven career-high performances for the Gym Dogs were not sufficient enough to beat Alabama Sunday afternoon. No. 8 Georgia fell to the No. 6 Crimson Tide 197.700-197.325. However, the team did post three event highs on the afternoon.
 
 
Rachel Schick, Gigi Marino, and Sydney Snead each won event titles in the loss to Alabama. Schick posted a 9.925 to claim the title on bars. Marino collected a 9.950 on floor and Snead with a 9.950 on vault.
 
 
During the first rotation, Georgia came out with a vengeance. Snead posted her second-straight 9.950 in the event. Each of the Gym Dogs posted 9.8 or higher during this rotation. Lauren Johnson and Rachel Dickson tied scoring 9.85s. The team came out strong and posted their best vault score as whole on the season with 49.275. Georgia trailed 49.275-49.400 after the first rotation.
 
 
Georgia continued its momentum through the bars rotation posting another season high team score. Career highs on bars came from Schick who posted a 9.925 and Snead with 9.900. Morgan Reynolds and Hayley Sanders also posted career highs of 9.875 and 9.825 on the bars. Georgia collected a score of 49.425 on bars a best for the team. Georgia surged ahead of the Crimson Tide 98.700-98.675 after two rotations.
 
 

 
 
However, after two impressive rotations, the Gym Dogs fell flat during the beam portion of the meet. The team posted a 49.15 on the beam. Georgia gymnasts, Vivi Babalis, paced the Bulldogs with her career-best on beam with a 9.900. Sabrina Vega, Sanders, and Dickson followed Babalis with scores of 9.850, 9.825, and 9.85. The scores were not enough to contain the lead, and after three rotations, Alabama took back the lead 148.175-147.850.
 
 

 
 
The floor rotation for Georgia posted a season best of 49.475. Marino tied her season best of 9.95 for the third-straight meet. Dickson followed with a score of 9.9 while Reynolds, Vega, and Snead all scored 9.875. However, the performance was not enough to produce a comeback and Georgia fell to the Crimson Tide.
 
 

 
 
“I think the team performed really well,” said head coach Danna Durante. “I am excited about the progress on bars and vault. That is where we have been focusing, so that was great. We just have to stay consistent through beam, which we’ve been doing. It is pretty exciting to come away with a season-high score and go `okay, we can still be better.'”
 
 
Georgia returns to Stegman Coliseum on Saturday, March 11 to close the regular season out against Utah. The meet will be Senior Day and Alumni Day for the team.
