Softball: Georgia Travels to Florida for a Top-20 SEC Matchup

The No. 18 Georgia softball team travels to the Sunshine State to take on the No. 3 Florida Gators in a three-game series that starts today at 4:00 p.m. ET. Games two and three will be on Sunday and Monday at 7:00 p.m. ET. All three games will be featured on the SEC Network.

SYDNI TABS 19TH MULTI-HIT GAME
 
Sydni Emanuel continues to find consistency at the plate, as she put up a pair of multi-hit games against Auburn. The senior now has an SEC-best 19 multi-hit games on the season, as Ole Miss’ Elantra Cox follows with 18. S. Emanuel tied her career high after going 4-for-4 in game three against the Tigers, the fifth time this season she has been perfect at the plate in official at-bats. For her career, S. Emanuel has 69 multi-hit games. Since 2008, only three players have had more multi-hit games in their Georgia career.

DICARLO CLEANS UP AS CLEANUP
 
After seven-straight games batting third, Alyssa DiCarlo returned to the cleanup spot in game two against Auburn and hit her first home run in 20 games to give her nine on the year. DiCarlo has hit at the four spot in 24 games this season, as she is hitting .478 there with 33 hits, including six doubles and eight home runs. With Lacey Sumerlin holding a hot bat, DiCarlo moved up to third in previous games, but hit .150 with six hits and one home run at that slot. With her 36 RBI coming from the cleanup spot, DiCarlo is second in the SEC while tied for seventh nationally with 44 this season. She leads all sophomores in RBI, as she led the freshmen last season with 63.
 
 
MCGUIRE GOING FOR EXTRA BASES
 
Maeve McGuire posted three hits in the Auburn series, all going for extra bases, as the senior now has five of her six hits in SEC play going for two or more. With 35 hits on the year, McGuire leads the way with a team-high 13 doubles and four triples, as with her three home runs she has 20 extra-base hits so far. For her career, just under half of her hits have led her beyond first base, including 39 doubles. The Illinois native is just four doubles away from moving into the career top 10, as Kristyn Sandberg stands at No. 10 with 43 career doubles.
